Enchanted Princess

Ship Tour - March 9, 2023

Enchanted Princess cruise ship

As an Independent Travel Advisor, I was invited by Princess Cruises to a ship tour and lunch on the Enchanted Princess. I’ve cruised on one of her sister ships, the Sky Princess, and was excited to see the similarities and differences.

Ship Info

The Enchanted Princess is the fifth of six Royal-class cruise ships for Princess Cruises. Her maiden voyage was in 2021. At 144,650 GT she can carry 3,660 guests and a crew of 1,346. She has 19 decks and 81% of her passenger cabins have a balcony.

Tour

I drove over to Port Everglades to check in at 10:00am along with other invited travel advisors. At 10:30am, we were cleared to board the ship and start our tour. We were able to view some cabins including an inside, standard balcony, mini-suite, and penthouse suite.

I can see why many cruisers say once you enjoy the suite-life, you never go back! Maybe one day I’ll have the chance to cruise in luxurious accommodations like these.

After that we had some free time to walk around the ship at our leisure. I went up to the lido deck first, where I saw the pool, The Mix bar and Slice Pizzeria.

Then I made my way down to the Piazza (atrium) and walked around the Promenade (7), Fiesta (6), and Plaza (5) decks.

Enchanted Princess Piazza

Some little differences that I noticed between the Sky Princess and Enchanted Princess are that Alfredo’s Pizzeria is now called Gigi’s Pizzeria (which I think continues on Princess’ newer ships), Bellini’s, Ocean Terrace Sushi, and Good Spirits have been shuffled around (I’m glad to see Good Spirits in a bigger venue), and Crooner’s Bar has been added back to this ship.

The biggest change I noticed was there’s no Vines Wine Bar on the Enchanted Princess! That was my favorite venue on the Sky Princess, so I was sad to see that gone. In its place is The Salty Dog Gastropub.

Lunch

At noon, I met back up with the travel advisor group for lunch in the Amalfi Dining Room (Fiesta Deck 6 Aft).

I enjoyed a delicious meal starting with the lump crab cake, medallion of beef tenderloin, and finished with the chocolate pistachio dome for dessert.

After lunch, we had more time to walk around at our leisure. I looked around the Princess Theater, Princess Casino and then Take Five, it’s such a beautiful venue (as it is on the Sky Princess).

It wasn’t long before we had to say goodbye to this gorgeous ship and her wonderful crew so they could finish preparing for the 14-day transatlantic cruise to Barcelona.

Final Thoughts

I wouldn’t hesitate to cruise on the Enchanted Princess, even if she doesn’t have Vines. Thanks for the invite, Princess Cruises, I had a great time exploring this lovely cruise ship!

Update

Since touring the Enchanted Princess, Princess Cruises has announced some changes to be made to the ship in an upcoming dry dock.

The changes include Salty Dog Gastropub moving to the Lido Deck as Salty Dog Cafe, and in its old place on Plaza Deck 5 will be the new O’Malley’s Irish Pub. Sabatini’s is moving to Promenade Deck 7 in the place of Bistro Sur la Mer, and in its old location on Plaza Deck 5 will be a new restaurant, The Catch by Rudi.

Gigi’s is being renamed to Gigi’s Pizzeria by Alfredo and the Slice Pizzeria on the lido deck will now be known as Alfredo’s Slice. Still no news of a Vines Wine Bar though, which is disappointing, but I’d absolutely still cruise on the Enchanted Princess.

Princess Cruises I Love This sign
Jennifer

Jennifer fell in love with cruising in 2002 on the Royal Caribbean Sovereign of the Seas, but she didn’t become obsessed until planning her honeymoon cruise with Jay on the Carnival Freedom in 2013. She loves how cruising provides a different vacation for everyone on board, whether it’s relaxing or action-packed. Jennifer has visited the Bahamas, Mexico, the Caribbean, South America and Europe during 19 cruises on 8 cruise lines. When not cruising or planning their next one, she likes to read and love on their two dogs, Lexi and Kenzi.
